another fluff one shot came to mind and suddenly i was writing this instead of continuing my wip LOL. but honestly, this idea was so cute! and it was written in ~3.5 hours, give or take (i did fall asleep on it at some points...). like my other one shot, this was written starting at like 10 pm and i wouldn't go to sleep until i finished it. so, tada! another creation of my 3AM-brain

 

plot

 

im not sure how prominent this is in other countries, but from my experience in the us, people (especially high schoolers) wear pajamas like a second daily uniform, especially the single color flannel pants. red, in particular, is pretty popular, but i've seen decent amounts of green, blue, and yellow as well. in any case, i thought it was hilarious to imagine the two of them wearing these pants, which is what put this idea in my head. im starting to realize a lot of one shot prompts just come from daily life, which is nice when you don't have inspiration but not so nice when the idea hits you like a truck and you're typing away at 2am.

 

i think class president x jock captain is a popular characterization for 131, so this dynamic makes an appearance once again here. in regards to it being seoyeon's POV again, i just wanted to explore how she'd feel about having strong Feelings for nien even after they've already started dating. (also, i think some of my own biases are slipping through—nien has been so lethal this entire msnz promotional period, it's crazy. also, slightly unrelated, during one of the breaks i took i saw this clip of sunnyz from the school attack thing they did. Woah Guys.) i also knew i wanted a bonus part in nien's POV, so when it got to the end i just started writing.

 

nien's thoughts about wanting to be a safe place for seoyeon so that she doesn't have to worry so much about bearing responsibility when she's with her—unintentional, but beautiful. i think you could also see it apply to real life, with how seoyeon bears the responsibility of being the leader/S1 yet seems to relax when she's with nien, whom she's described as "her energizer" (im still not over that moment BTW that was just so amazing). not to mention also how seoyeon has said that nien was a big support to her during lovelution era and that she helped her a lot, even though they weren't close yet at that point. just tear-jerking to me.

overall, this was super fun to write and im also glad the word count was a bit higher here (i think im just that type of person who thinks more = better even though it's just a one shot LOL). my second HS au i know... and my wip is also an HS au too mian there's just so many possibilities (fitting for the idol of possibilities). also, like i said, i wrote this in the wee hours of the night/morning so i may make revisions when i come back to it later (or maybe not. who knows?). thank you for reading this one shot and also for reading this reflection!
